Madrid, Spain – The Guardia Civil has released a critical public service announcement highlighting the severe risks of leaving pets unattended in vehicles, especially during warm weather. In a recent video, an officer demonstrated how quickly a car's interior can become a death trap for animals. The footage shows an officer placing a small white dog into a car, then explaining that temperatures inside a parked vehicle can rapidly escalate to over 50 degrees Celsius, a level that can be fatal for pets in mere minutes. The officer emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, 'If you see this situation, do not hesitate to call, because their life could be in danger.' The Guardia Civil urges all pet owners to be responsible and never leave their animals alone in a car, even for a short period, as the consequences can be tragic. Citizens who observe animals in distress due to heat in vehicles are encouraged to immediately contact emergency services.
